Orc aggression in the Barrens!

February 21, 2010 at 12:55 am (Uncategorized)

Theramore’s pact with the New Horde has seen itself strained in recent years. In the time after the end of the Third War we enjoyed relative peace with the Warchief’s Clans. However it would seem that in recent times both the Orcs and their allies are showing signs of returning to their old ways of savagery and bloodlust, something that many have predicated and feared. Indeed, the question upon the lips of many is – Was Daelin right?

Reports from scouts of Horde forces massing close to Northwatch and inside of Dustwallow Marsh itself have always been sketchy at best, however assaults against our outposts of Northwatch and patrols in the Marshes, the burning of the Shady Rest Inn (Resulting in the death of a mother, and her child) by Tauren Tribes and also no less than two attacks upon the Isle itself in the past three years. We ask how much more blood must be spilled before action is taken?

Sometime late yesterday evening, the stronghold of Northwatch received reports of Horde and Troll violence within the (neutral) port town of Rachet, coupled with this rioting being aimed towards Alliance citizens and races. A small force of 3 Company Theramore Marines was dispatched in order to maintain order and see to the protection and evacuation of said Alliance civilians and merchants.

Upon entering the town the ‘ringleader’ of these Orcs was quickly made clear as per reports from scouts and those who had been at the mercy of the barbarians. Unfortunately through the use of foul demonic magic’s said Orc barely evaded the Marines who promptly attempted to negotiate and ‘calm’ those Horde forces involved. Despite this the Orcs (aided by their Troll allies) swiftly turned their axes against the Marines and a bloody skirmish erupted. Reinforcements, presumably rallied from the infamous ‘Crossroads’ arrived forcing the Marines into a tactical withdrawal. Pulling back to nearby Northwatch the Orcs followed yet were quickly freighted away by the strongholds’ batteries and garrison.

These actions against Theramore soldiers and citizens are clear signs that the Horde has all but forgotten or merely cares not for the pact we forged in blood atop Mount Hyjal almost a decade ago. What do the Orcs now seek if not the conquest of our fair Isle? Are these attacks not sign enough? And how will the Assembly respond?

Marines withdraw from Duskwood

February 7, 2010 at 6:39 pm (Uncategorized)

Recently the Cult of Holy Anethion entered the small township of Darkshire, Duskwood in the Kingdom of Azeroth with the apparent intent of “Cleansing the forest of its dark taint and the organization known as the Dark Sphere”. The Cult quickly set about rounding innocents up, proclaiming them Spherite cultists and sympathizers before burning them at the stake. Indeed, has Stormwind fallen to the level of Trolls?

Despite rumors (which were later confirmed) of such goings on a small number of Theramore citizens and soldiers decided to lend their aid to the small town with far more noble intentions than the Cult (of Anethion). However they did so under the banner of the Golden Anchor suggesting that Theramore had officially sanctioned this aid and support the murder, hate crimes and other foul acts committed by the Cult. As such a small detachment of 3 Company, Theramore Marines were dispatched to Stormwind and the town in order to make it known that Theramore would not tolerate the actions of this Cult and to ensure the safety and retrieval of those who had offered their aid.

After entering the town and discussing matters with Lord Imanuel the ‘Protector’ of Anethion the detachment of Marines agreed to ferry supplies from Stormwind and neighboring provinces for the sake of the suffering population and that they (the civilians) would receive no other help.

Putting their lives on the line to (once more) aid in a conflict that Theramore has no part of, the brave Marines saw to it that food, clothing and building materials were delivered to the town. For their efforts the soldiers were verbally assaulted by the zealots of Anethion and almost struck by its members. In response and with their duty fulfilled the detachment of 3 Company left the town and province. Such is the way of the Kingdom of Azeroth it would seem, to insult, spit on and physically attack its allies who have done and to this day continue to aid in its defence.

Our hearts go out to the families of those who were savagely murdered by the Cult of Chapter Anethion. We can only pray for justice in due time.

Stormwind agents assault Theramore soldiers

February 7, 2010 at 2:03 am (Uncategorized)

Theramore’s relationship with the Kingdom of Azeroth (Stormwind to most) has never been a road free of  bumps. Whether their refusal to acknowledge the contributions and sacrifices that our brave fighting men and women make in the name of the Alliance or ignorantly trying to convince themselves, and us all that Stormwind City, not Theramore Isle is the true home of the Grand Alliance.

Despite their flaws we have always tried to maintain a positive stance with the Lions, smiling awkwardly and peering at each other nervously as the since (again) crowned ‘King’ Varian leads not just Stormwind, but the entire Grand Alliance into pointless, petty skirmishes with the Horde whilst its own towns are left at the mercy of countless horrors and farmers are left to see to the defences of their homes in place of their needed, nay, rightful protectors.

Now however word comes to us that Stormwinds own soldiers and operatives have directly assaulted Theramore soldiers! Captain Graham Gunnell of 3 Company, Theramore Marines was recently deployed with a small detachment to oversee the dealings of the barbaric Cult of Holy Anethion after their recent genocide of innocents and the safety of Theramore citizens and soldiers who had offered their aid to the defence of those whom their own Kingdom had abandoned. Whilst in Stormwind City in an effort to acquire supplies for the beleaguered township the good Captain was set upon by members of the infamous SI:7 (Also known as ‘Stormwind Intelligence’ or ‘Operations’).

“It was a completely unprovoked attack” said Captain Gunnell. “I had been speaking with a local drunkard (Quite common in Stormwind it would seem – Editor) who had tried to force himself upon a local flower merchant. I managed to convince him to step down when he walked over to one of these ‘Stormwind Agent’ fellows. Given that they are charged with the defence and peacekeeping of the city I thought little of it. The next thing I know myself and my Second were set upon by this ‘Protector of Peace’ and his drunken friend whilst the regular Stormwind ‘Guardsmen’ watched, caring little for the violence going off outside their own Cathedral.  Luckily we were able to fight off our assailants with both of them fleeing into the night. We had attempted to reason with them, but they were having non of it. A shameful display of what is unfortunately common occurrence in this city and kingdom”

This incident will be brought before the ruling body of Stormwind City on Tuesday although we sincerely doubt (But wish for otherwise) that they will pay heed to the words of our brave soldiers who even now fight and die in the defence of these lands in conflicts brought about by Stormwind and its foolish hierarchy.

Time will tell if such violence will continue (Although we suspect it will) and as such we advised all citizens forced to visit the Kingdom of Azeroth to keep a hand on their coin purse, and another on their blade.
